Hi! Welcome! Come on in, and observe the “test – test – test” of this microphone while I set the stage and figure out the sound and lighting and wait for the late band members to arrive. (So, that’s the test for this first paragraph.)
A lot has changed for me since I began to blog, back in the olden days. The biggest change for me is Orthodox Christianity. My whole life has been Christian – and this is different, but still the same – and mostly it’s the same for me because I’m still me. I’m still all-in. I’m still wait-to-decide followed by nothing-withheld. And I’m still make-it-real.
Are you someone who knew me decades ago when I knew Billy? We were all headed into the annex for something youth groupy or maybe college and career-y, and I made some typically me-clueless comment about the topic some of the guys were being flippant about, and Billy turned to me and gave me his (typical) side-eye straight-talk face, and said, “You’re really– sincere, aren’t you?” I am, kinda. Yeah. It’s still true.
That’s what this blog is going to be. It’s just me. Unfiltered, but (I hope, and God helping me) not unaware. Direct, but not unkind. Full to overflowing with love for things like this video and what it says about Orthodoxy and the arts and human expression and a sincere congruity of personality and worship. (Here commenceth the next experiment. Can I successfully upload a video link?)
